Multix MX



As much as 60% of the Indian Population live in Rural areas and about 70% of employment is by farming in India where most of the rural roads are narrow and in most cases where there is a huge patch of mud roads still in use. To counter this problem Multix AX+ and Multix MX were launched in India priced under ₹3,00,000 to tap into the new gen Indian who want a 4X4 for the personal use.

Multix MX is a Personal Utility Vehicle having 918LTRS of boot space very well suitable for people having small farms and small-scale businessmen so they could transport they crates of fruits, vegetables or dairy products into the city market and while returning they can buy they provisions for a whole week.

This is the first of the kind budget Personal Utility Vehicle developed by the Eicher, who produce robust trucks and Polaris, who are market leader in off-road road vehicles in USA. The joint venture betweed Eicher, India and Polaris, USA have come up with a super cool utility vehicle which is powered by a new 652cc direct-injection, Single-Cylinder, 4Stroke BS IV, churning power of 12.80bhp @ 3000rpm and producing a torque of 37Nm @ 2000rpm (2017) replacing the old 510c.c BSIII, 4Speed engine,9.80bhp of power and torque 27.1Nm (2015).

Having a very short turing radius of 3.93mtrs it can easily stear around the small narrow roads. Having 11.5ltrs fuel tank and returining a milage of about 28km per liter of Diesel and has a max speed of 60 to 70 kmph.

When talking about suspention Multix MX has 4 independent suspension for all 4 wheels and has hydraulic drum breakes 

Multix Ihas a smart X-Port (power take-off) point as an accessory which can generate upto 3Kw. Company claims it can power a refrigerator, a washing machine, a generator or even a water pump. The X-port is basically a driveshaft that transfers power from the Multix’s engine to the device it is connected with (refrigerator, water pump…). This will be useful in the rural areas where power supply is usually irregular. 

Downsides:

  1. Small fuel tank 11.5 LTRS.
  2. Top speed at max is 60 to 70 KMPH.
  3. Drum breaks at front and rear.

Upside:
  1. Small Turning Radius of 3.93mtrs.
  2. High boot space of about +400ltrs.
  3. High Torque 37N.m @ 2000rpm.
  4. BS IV Engine.
  5. Suitable for small business establishments.

Smart X - Port:




1. The Multix Engine has an extension in his driveshaft which comes out of gearing of transmission which powers the wheels.

2. This extra driveshaft (X-Port) is not connected to the power the wheels but instead use their rotary motion to power an accessory.






3. The X - Port driveshaft is connected to generator, water pumps, etc etc with the help of universal joints or by split shafts.
